5 Blogging and Personal Goals for January

I realize a post like this is a little late into the month but better late than never, and at least it's still in the early days of January. It started with a quick search for "how to build your readership," and four days later I'm still reading other blogs on how to manage, build, and take my blog seriously. I've come across a couple of bloggers who share their blogging goals for the months.

Personally, I prefer monthly goals over yearly resolutions. Also, I have started keeping track of personal goals and figure you guys might like to read those as well! I don't like yearly resolutions because they are usually vague, have no planning behind them, and are quickly forgotten. Whereas monthly goals require a bit more thought, planning, and if kept track of, they won't be forgotten so easily. Furthermore, I consider my personal monthly goals to be more of guidelines for developing positive habits. Being the first month of the new year, and being my first time setting blogging goals, I'm sticking to 5 per topic.

Blogging Goals for January 2017

  1. Write at least one post a week. I've been trying to do this anyway, but sometimes life gets in the way. In my research that leads me to write this post, I have found that most bloggers rely on scheduling posts rather than inspiration to write the post. I suppose this means it is time to start keeping one of those blogging calendars that I have read so much about.
  2. Utilize social media management apps. I joined a couple of websites today that allow me to plan out facebook and twitter posts. I took some time since I do not work today, to plan out a week's worth of posts per social media outlet. I'm hoping that by planning out some social media posts that on days I'm super busy and can't post anything I can still find a second to reply to anyone who replies to the planned posts.
  3. Join 5 blogging groups. I've read a lot about how resources, advice, and friendly conversation is shared in blogging groups. I haven't found any that cater to the sex blogging community, but I am hoping that I can dig some up this month during my down time. I have one, that I created, and you are welcome to join if you'd like (just send me a message from my contact page requesting the link), but I haven't found any others created by other bloggers.
  4. Host one giveaway. This would also be my very first giveaway. I have a feeling that this will take some planning and coordinate, but I want to set up and host a giveaway for next month (can you say Valentine's day!).
  5. Make $100 in affiliate marketing. Again, I realize that this is going to take a lot of planning, like the giveaway, but I have yet to reach that $100 mark on a monthly balance statement for my affiliate programs. I see a lot of reading in my future on how to properly and effectively market my affiliate links!

Personal Goals for January 2017

  1. Exercise daily or bi-daily. While losing weight is not on my plan (I only weigh 116 lbs on a good day, soaking wet) I do want to tone up. I feel like I am weak and fragile and I hate my butt. My goal for January is to get into the habit of exercising either every day or every other day.
  2. Orgasm every day. I have far too many things that vibrate to be this cranky, this often. I am 100% positive that more orgasms will help me be less cranky, and in turn make the people around me happier. I haven't decided when I want to set aside time for this, but I having a feeling that I am going to be needing more waterproof toys. . . .
  3. Go to the park weekly. I hate being outside. It is hot and has bugs and is icky and I could go on and on. I am also coming off of my antidepressants and anti-anxiety medication in an attempt to save money. I have a feeling getting fresh air, the sunshine, and using some of that time to exercise, will help tremendously with my mental illness.
  4. Create one thing. I love creating things. Whether it be with yarn, colored pencils, a sketchbook, or scrap paper. This month I want to finish the scarf I am making for PolyHubby. It is crochet and I want him to wear it during the final months of winter. It was originally supposed to be a surprise, but I couldn't help but show him and will be happy to share pictures of it when it's done on facebook and twitter!
  5. Read one book. In my youth, I read a fuck ton of books. All of the books, if you will. Since I have gotten older I probably read 2 books a year, and damn it, I miss reading. While it may not seem like much, I plan on reading a book a month, so starting in January, I will read one book, The Last Star by Rick Yancey. Do you have any suggestions for what I should read in February?
What are some of your goals for January? I'd love to hear them and how you plan to achieve them!

See if I achieved my goals and my new goals for February.
